Neil Simon (1927-2018) was a playwright and writer for film and television, known for his Broadway plays (including The Odd Couple and The Sunshine Boys. (1970) Simon called it faulty but also one of his favorites. Neil Simon was born on July 4, 1927, in The Bronx, New York, to Jewish parents.
